Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an AnswerEngine account or using any part of the platform at bacwaterdepot.com/platform, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use the platform.

2. The service

AnswerEngine is a Software-as-a-Service product operated by BAC Water Depot. We crawl customer-supplied websites, query third-party AI search engines, generate marketing/SEO content using third-party LLM APIs, and provide a dashboard interface to manage all of the above.

3. Customer responsibilities

You represent that you own or have authorization to manage the websites you add to AnswerEngine.
You are responsible for reviewing all AI-generated content before publishing it on your site or social channels. We provide a review-and-approve workflow specifically for this purpose.
You are responsible for the accuracy of competitor lists, niche descriptions, and product information you supply.
You will not use AnswerEngine to generate content that violates third-party intellectual property, defames any person, makes claims for regulated products (drugs, medical devices, financial services) without proper authority, or otherwise breaks applicable law.

4. AI-generated content disclaimer

AnswerEngine uses large language models (DeepSeek, Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, and others) to generate written content. AI-generated content can be incorrect, biased, or factually wrong. You are solely responsible for fact-checking, editing, and approving generated content before it appears on your website or in any customer-facing context. AnswerEngine makes no warranty about the accuracy of AI-generated output.

5. Subscriptions, billing, and refunds

Plans are billed monthly or annually via Stripe. Plan limits (sites, keywords, citation checks, published pages) reset on the first of each calendar month. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee on the first paid month of any plan — email support@bacwaterdepot.com with your order ID for a refund.

Beyond month 1, subscriptions are non-refundable for partial periods. You may cancel anytime from the Billing Portal; access continues to the end of the paid period.

6. Acceptable use

You may not: (a) reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the underlying model prompts or training data; (b) abuse the API in ways that materially degrade service for other customers (we enforce per-org rate limits and will throttle abusive accounts); (c) use AnswerEngine to scrape sites you don't own; (d) generate content intended to harm, harass, or impersonate any person.

7. Service availability

We target 99.5% monthly uptime. Scheduled maintenance is announced 24 hours in advance where possible. Third-party AI engine outages (Perplexity, OpenAI, etc.) are outside our control and don't count against uptime — we degrade gracefully when a tracked engine is unavailable.

8. Limitation of liability

AnswerEngine's total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages (lost revenue, lost data, lost rankings, etc.).

9. Termination

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms — typically with notice unless the violation is severe (security, abuse). Upon termination we retain your data for 30 days for restoration purposes, then delete it.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated by email to account owners at least 30 days before they take effect.
